Bichon Frise
american

The BICHON FRISÉ is a small French companion dog whose early history is not well known. It is probably descended from small spaniels, the Poodle, or the Maltese. Whatever its origins, the Bichon is a charming little companion dog, and this is the only thing it is good for. It has a cheerful nature, is playful, affectionate, and lively, and is easy to live with. It barks very little, is always in good spirits, wants to be included in whatever is happening and tries very hard to please. Its requirements for exercise are minimal, but taking care of its coat is a major job. This dog can look either like an exquisite white powder puff, or a matted mess of knotted fur - it all depends on the owner. The Bichon is sensitive and easy to teach. It adapts well to just about any situation, but can't deal with the rough handling small children tend to display toward pets.
